This is one of those times you have to remember that time is passing even if plotwise it seems like it can't have been more than a day. That's just how this videogame world works. The old comic was passing in real time despite every day being 4 panels, and this one.. it's about a 3:1 ratio with real life. That's still not enough time for the economy to have been altered, but that falls under something that happened in the old comic as well, and other creators have backed me up on: you feel like tons more time is passing when a project is new, compared to later on. You look back at the early times and what you thought was ages was just a few months.
