I want to say I wrote down these names and decided these were their names, but didn't use them in the old comic... because when one guy splits into two, they don't just suddenly have names. I'm amazed Loki remembered Elective's name though. I guess the smell must be really distinctive.
When I was a kid, the Superman Red Superman Blue thing (which isn't even the first time that story had been done) was straight-up news. Largely because it was mistinterpreted as a costume change, with only the blue one being shown.
