Boon is so dang cute. Those incoming arthropods look tremendously larger than they should. Oh well. I did reference a bunch of different types of invertebrate fungal infection. My favorite is the weird branchy shit that looks like horns. Make THAT a pokémon, Game Freak! Do it!
I can't defend everything about the Mario movie, but their gritty scifi version of "there are mushrooms everywhere" was inspired, and the fungus effects looked great. Fite me.
