The uniform darkening looks a little off. I think maybe that would normally not be the right way to do it, but it reminds me of a cheap N64-era effect, and I like those. Like the nuke from Turok 2. I like to think some of these kinda dull thud reference gags would have been better as visual stuff in an animation, like going full Street Fighter with a thrown-into-a-projectile sequence.
