The background coloring comes full circle here! It just looks nice when it's purple, it makes Tzara Autostrada look good, it works well behind the party, it's all good. The portal illustrates that it's finished by not having one unified color anymore.
I had this preparation choreography planned long, long before I actually knew what the final battle would be. In the end, there wasn't really feasible space to put everyone together at the end, so I focused on the important ones who still needed to show they were all done.
Adventure parties are so special. If it wasn't a ridiculous undertaking, I'd love to do some kind of story about a whole bunch of fucking parties. Remember that one episode of the one GOOD Scooby-Doo series, where they had cameos by all the other Hanna-Barbera mystery-solving teen teams? Good stuff.
