The old comic was daily, so I was able to do a comic on every conceivable holiday and decide whether to do a special one or not. This one I didn't have as much control on, so I wasn't going to do an April Fools' Day comic merely because it fell on the date. But that did end up being the holiday that got the most play.
Sasha's natures are in conflict! I have always found it interesting that dogs have such good senses of smell yet they seem to love every awful stank.
I'm particularly proud of this gag at the end. It's like, what is the mechanism that makes rising rock paths rise? We never question that cliche. If it was some kind of buoyancy thing, what if you added too much?
