Rampion kinda represents my unfulfilled expectations that Tangled would be about this ass-kicking superhero princess. That's what the previews led me to believe. Everyone loves a good fractured fairy tale, but in particular I thought it'd be fun to really take the "princess who isn't into being a princess" to a greater extent. Like she's so unposh even regular people find her abrasive.
But it was hard to think of what her conflict actually is. So really in the end she comes off more like a Brave parody than Rapunzel. That was definitely unintentional; Brave had so little effect on me I couldn't tell you much except that it was ugly. Like so specifically ugly that I feel like in another timeline, I could see that art being called racist or something. Anyway I like those dotted lines I drew.
