The line "murdered by pirates is good" from The Princess Bride is one of those family jokes in my family. Couldn't resist a random reference to it. Did you know scarabs are the same as those cool horned beetles that always appear in anime? I did.
I don't recall why I particularly thought the idea of a "potion plant" would be a fun thing, but it would, right? Like if I put more work into it... some nice setting flavor. However, that shot kicked my ass as it is, so meh. At least you might notice there's different vat materials here. That's important sometimes!
This is some legit mythology referencing here. That's how you make zombles. Look it up. I had so much fun drawing a mummified spinosaur, all because its species name is aegyptiacus. Plus it just looks the part, right? What with the crocodile jaws.
