I think it's sad and aggressively boring that real vikings didn't wear horns like in operas, but at least we know they wore 'em for ritual shit sometimes. That is what horns are all about. Similarly, I wasn't about to worry two shits about making this valkyrie look terribly authentic.
Still, having the Carrion Girls cameos commenting on her was a nod, since that comic tries its best to be super extra historically accurate. Writing their bickering is super fun. One of the best things about that comic is how they're similar but different in each area of their lives.
Having different fae existing in the same story here does kind of justify me taking time to explain their comparisons and contrasts, I think. From their POV I don't think they think of each other as being all that closely related.
