I think this was in response to concerns (maybe feedback?) that this story had ended unsatisfyingly without showing the positive consequences. I considered having the pirate (fuck, what was his name? He kept doing bad jokes) and Soroban dragging things off simultaneously, but I doublechecked in the old comic and the timing doesn't work out.
And then just a bunch of old panels because sure why not. Picked the nicest ones and traced them, making small modifications. Every so often I still get that urge to color or at least clean up the old comic. I dunno, that would have to require some kind of money situation.
Ahaha yes, I thought so. I noticed (or someone told me?) the pauldron-flip situation and commented on it. Fantastic. Makes it feel like that was intentional.
