I'm not sure why I wanted Robin to mainly carry the lantern, but it suited her somehow. I always drew her with more elongated limbs than the rest, and the wrist-curve is important for good lantern-hold. Also she floats so it can appear at any level.
You like these action poses Kaen does when using his jetpack? I think I referenced them. Trying to use less stiff and more dynamic stuff around this time. This plot here... see, I had written down that the sword should end up special, but the more I thought about it, it didn't line up with any scifi principles I could think of. Kaen points out this isn't a Voyager or Doctor Who situation.
And at the same time, I was trying to work it in with the prophecy the old man gave while they were inside the giant weird cyclops baby. Just keep reading...
