Technically this is a mistake, since you can see the bare ground establishing the snow level wasn't that high. Also nobody would build a house ON snow, just sitting on it. But as long as you don't think about it, it's super clever!
Yeah see, copper weapons. Also I actually made that guy look like the character he's quoting.
Now this scene is much more worthy of pride than that other one. I actually remember looking at it just a few years later and realizing it was nothing special. I was a better artist than this at the time, but landscapes flummoxed me and the learning curve of the tablet had not yet been rounded. One big innovation was actually looking up references to design this building so it doesn't look like a baby drawing.
I enjoyed giving every yukijin some colored facial markings a la Zoids. A lot better than the facial tattoos of the Ainu but still reminiscent of them and also American war paint. On the other hand, these are definitely like, fucking pure red copper weapons. I'm pretty sure bronze is never this reddish and is a much better weapons material.
