I feel like that exchange in panel 1 is realistic. That's just a subtle bit of believable nitpicking. I never really noticed before, but this fits nicely into Kimchi's arc too. Not that he's ever succeeded in said 'tomcattin' but there was that thing early on where Mizu had to learn to quit cockblocking him. The timeskip is definitely where the comic takes a turn for the better, I tell you what.
If there's one trope I dig, though, it's when someone's seeming perfect match shows up by total chance. Whether it's a trap, a temptation when they already have someone, a source of jealousy for said someone who really needn't have worried, or whatever, it's just like... a neat thing. I'm sure you can think of examples.
