Good ol' damp-blanket Ribbon. She's not going to actually stop them or anything. I had a hell of a time trying to think of interesting things to put in this room. I was conscious of how bad I was at improvising them. Mizu's struggle with chess kind of mirrors that, but I'm not going to pretend it was intentional.
I like whale spiders. I invented them. If you look carefully, you'll see it's clearly a hybrid of a whale and a solifugid, not a spider. You'll also notice that I drew this scene with Robin and Hel as onlookers then realized they'd be high up in the air, so I just had Robin floating Hel up with magic because why not? Also hopefully that little Mission Hill reference helps make it clear what Robin's spell-chanting is meant to be accomplishing.
